How to Learn from Normal Work: A Mind-Mapping Exercise

Based on audience feedback from their 2024 Safety Standdown presentation, there is a strong interest in learning how to use network mapping tools. Our workshop will help participants build on concepts during their 2025 presentation “Learning from Normal Work” by taking the participants from theory to application of concepts introduced in the Learning Review (now being used by two major airlines). Learning Reviews use network mapping to help organizations make sense of the human contribution to incidents, accidents, and normal work in complex systems to answer the question, “why did it make sense for people to do what they did?”
